Who we are
Soothing Strategies is a woman-owned and operated wellness company that provides tools to address mental and physical stress through the modalities of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation.
Owners Marci and Melissa are experienced yoga and meditation teachers who have partnered for decades with corporations, hospitals, residential, and mental health facilities.
Melissa Russell and Marci Lew have the following accreditations: certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), 500-hour registered yoga teacher (RYT-500), certified meditation teacher (iRest), and a certified health coach through Duke Integrative Medicine, certified Tri-Yoga teacher, certified Mat Pilates instructor, and certification in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and a Masters Degree in Education.
Our Background
Owners Melissa and Marci are experienced yoga therapists and instructors who have worked for decades with various corporations, health facilities, residential facilities, and individuals. What Marci and Melissa have found is that regardless of the age, location, or background of the students, the common thread across various populations has been a mental and/or physical ‘stuckness’ in certain body and mind patterns that lead to ill health in its various forms. Some of these forms include increased levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia or fitful sleep. While traditional forms of exercise can boost mood, we at Soothing Strategies believe that you need to go deeper, to the root of unease and stress, and that takes more than a typical workout.
